Several Chargers Make Top Ten in District Football Statistical Categories

Despite the fact that the ACGC football team is having a losing season, there are some positives to consider when looking at the number of Charger players who have fared well in district statistical categories. Seven different Chargers are listed among the top ten in six different categories.

Will Byars and Logan Brinks rank second and third in punting average, with Byars kicking five punts for an average of 40.6 yards per punt and Brincks kicking 17 times for an average of 35.6 yards. Byars has also recorded the longest punt in district play--a 67 yarder.

Caden Wardyn is tied for second in yards per kick off return, averaging 29 yards per return. Also ranking second are Cole Boyer in total tackles with 43 and Quynton Younker who is tied for second in fumble recoveries with 2. Ben Kingery also made the top ten in total tackles with 36, giving him the number six spot.

On the offensive side, Bryce Littler ranks seventh in passing yards with 222, while Wardyn is eighth with 93 pass receiving yards.

The Chargers will close out the home schedule on Friday when they will face Odebolt-Arthur-Battle Creek-Ida Grove at 7 PM on Jarmain Field.
