Swimmer Mackenzie Campbell Qualifies for State Meet With Carroll High School


ACGC sophomore Mackenzie Campbell has qualified for two events at the Iowa girls' state swimming championships. Campbell, swimming for Carroll High School, has qualified in the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay. Carroll competed in the Ankeny Regional on Saturday and finished fourth out of nine teams with 252 points, while Ankeny was crowned regional cahmpion with 459 ponts.

Campbell swam the first leg in the 200 Freestyle Relay and helped the Tigers to a fifth place finish with a time of 1:43.70. In the 400 Freestyle Relay Carroll finished sixth in a time of 4:05.09 with Campbell swimming the second leg.

Campbell and the Tigers will compete this Saturday at the Marshalltown YMCA/YWCA with competition to begin following a parade of teams and several award presentations that will start at noon.
