Chargers Grapplers Face Tough Competition at Corning--Beeler Places Second; Charger Invite on Saturd


Six ACGC wrestlers competed at the Dan Harris Invitational at Corning over the weekend, with Blaine Beeler coming home with the best showing as he captured second place at 120 lb. The competition was pretty fierce as twenty three teams competed, beginning on Friday evening and continuing throughout the day on Saturday.

Beeler pinned his way to the finals, advancing out of round one through a bye and then proceeding to win by fall over his next three opponents. He lost in the finals to Bryce Hatten of Winterset by major decision, 24-7.

Others competing for the Chargers were Easton Benson at 126 lb, Zach Fees at 132 lb, Gabe Rowley at 132 lb, Ben Kingery at 182 lb, and Spencer Grove at 220 lb. As a team the Chargers finished sixteenth with 33 points. Highly ranked Missouri Valley won the meet with 230.5 points.

The Chargers will complete the regular season this week with two events. On Tuesday ACGC will travel to Woodbine for duals with Tri-Center and Woodbine. Next Saturday, Jan. 27 ACGC will host the Charger Invitational as twenty three teams are set to compete with the action to begin at 8 AM at the ACGC High School.
