Father, Son Duo Headed for State Wrestling! Seth Danker Is District Runnerup

ACGC head wrestling coach Shawn Danker beamed from ear to ear following son Seth's qualification for the state wrestling tournament. The younger Danker placed second in the 106 lb weight class at the district meet today to qualify for the state meet to be held at Wells Fargo Arena from February 15 through the 17th.

Freshman Seth opened the district meet today with a pin of Kaleb King of Logan-Magnolia in 3:45. King boasted a 34-14 record entering district competition, while Danker had an equally impressive record of 32-10. In the championship match Cael Cassady (40-8) of Martensdale St. Mary's won by fall over Danker in 1:23. Cassady and Danker had met in the finals of the sectional meet as well, with Cassady also winning that match.

Because Danker had already defeated King in the first round, there was no wrestle back for the Charger grappler. Father and son are headed for the state meet!

Danker will wrestle on Thursday morning, February 15 at the state meet with first matches to begin at 9 AM.
