Haley Sheeder, Kena Baier Compete at WCAC Golf Tourney


The WCAC girls' conference golf tournament was held at the Lakeview course near Winterset on Monday. The Chargers did not field a full team, as Haley Sheeder and Kena Baier were the only ACGC gofers to compete. Sheeder shot a 105 over the 18 hole course for an eleventh place finish out of 40 golfers, while Baier finished in twenty first place with a score of 114. Kylie Carey of Van Meter was medalist with a score of 85.

Van Meter easily won the event on its home course with a team score of 381, with Panorama finishing second at 420. A total of six teams out of the nine team conference fielded full squads. In addition to the Chargers, neither West Central Valley nor Madrid fielded full teams.

The girls are off until next Tuesday, May 8th when they will travel to Perry. The Charger boys' had their WCAC meet postponed until the 8th when they will tee off at Panorama.
