A "less than full squad" of Charger wrestlers finished sixth at the Crusader Invitational at Coon Rapids yesterday. Injury and illness have hit the team, resulting in several open weights for the ACGC grapplers, with Seth Danker, Gunner Larsen, and Easton Benson unable to perform in the two meets since the holiday break.

All nine of the Chargers who did wrestle yesterday scored points, with Blaine Beeler claiming the 120 lb. title. After drawing a bye in the first round, Beeler pinned the same opponent twice to take home the gold. His two falls were over Michael Goff of South Central Calhoun in times of 1:11 and 1:24.

The Rowley brothers, Cale at 126 lb. and Gabe at 145 lb., and Ben Kingery at 195 lb. finished third for the Chargers. Gabe won three matches which put him over the coveted twenty win mark for the season. Taking fourth was Dawson Muller at 113 lb. and Gage Buttler at 220 lb. Gavin Cornelison at 170 lb. placed fifth, while Devon Oberholtz at 152 and Cole Plowman at 182 both finished in sixth place.

Kingery claimed the fastest fall on the day when he threw Panorama's James Hein in 47 seconds. Gage Buttler was close behind with a fall in 49 seconds over Zach Lee of CRB.

South Central Calhoun claimed the team title with 164 points. The Chargers totaled 89 points to finish sixth in the ten team meet.

Next up for the team is a four team dual meet on Thursday on the Chargers mats. ACGC will host teams from Riverside (Oakland), Tri-Center (Neola), and Woodbine, with first matches to begin at 5:30.
