Charger Track Girls Finish in Middle of the Pack at Bondurant

When you combine stiff competition from larger schools with slower times by one's favorite team, the results of a track meet are not exactly what one would want. So it was for the ACGC girls on Monday at Bondurant. Despite going up against larger schools, the Chargers' still managed to finish in the middle of the nine team meet which was won by Pella.

ACGC managed two first place winners, as Madison McDermott took the top spot in the shot put with a put of 36'10" and Kate Crawford won the 1500 meters in 5:09.62.

Coach Shawgo's comments reflected the results when he said, "As we get into the meat of the season, our legs are starting to get tired and so our times suffered. That being said, we still went out and competed hard, which is what you want from your athletic team. I was happy with how we did compared to a lot of larger schools, but look forward to our times dropping again soon."

The Chargers will be at Stuart, along with the boys' team, for their next meet tomorrow. First events are scheduled for 4:30.
