Kena Baier, McKlain Jorgenson Are Runnersup in Last Week's Golf Outings


The Charger girls' golf team hit the links in Coon Rapids last week in a dual meet won by the Crusaders, 207 to 263. Kena Baier led the ACGC team, as shw finished in a tie for runnerup honors. Baier shot a 51 on the par 35 course, tying her with Sydney Honold of CRB. CRB's Alaya Betts was medalist with a 49.

Others golfing for the Chargers and their scores included Jessica Stringer (63), Alyssa Beyers (71), and Morgan Lemke (78). The girls' will be back in competition today when they travel to Panorama to take on the Panthers.

The Charger boys participated in a triangular meet last Thursday at Van Meter that also included the Earlham team. The Chargers finished in a tie for second with Madrid, with both teams totaling 204 strokes. Van Meter's score of 172 topped the Chargers and Cardinals. McKlain Jorgenson paced the Chargers with score of 44, placing him in a tie for the runnerup spot. Other ACGC golfers and their scores included Gunnar Larsen (51), Eli Kading (54), Nolan Wheatley (55), Cael Hoing (56), and Nash Ayers (62). The top four individual scores are included in determining the team score.

The boys next action is scheduled for tomorrow, April 22 when they will travel to the Sugar Creek golf course to face Des Moines Christian and Earlham.
