Charger Boy Golfers Place Eighth in WCAC Meet

The ACGC boys' golf team took the short trip to the Lake Panorama golf course on Wednesday to compete in the West Central Activities Conference golf meet and came home with an eighth place finish among the ten schools that fielded teams. The Chargers recorded a score of 424, while Des Moines Christian took the title with a very solid score of 306. Four of the five DMC golfers were awarded all-conference honors.

McKlain Jorgenson led the Charger scores as he played the 18 hole course in 98 strokes. Seth Danker wasn't far behind with a 101. Other Charger scores that counted toward the team score included Nolan Wheatly's 111 and Gunnar Larsen's 114. Spencer Grove and Eli Kading also played the course, coming with scores of 115 and 126 respectively.

Coach Lori McGivney offered these comments following the meet. "McKlain and Seth had great rounds. Proud of the boys for their improved play. Their course management was much better. They all had shots where they wished they could have taken a mulligan. Consistency will come with more practice and playing more courses. They have a lot of potential for the future."

Next action for the boys will be tomorrow (Saturday) at Coon Rapids with play to begin at 9 AM. The girls will host Perry on the local course on Tuesday, May 7 with tee off at 4 PM.
