Season bests were established by Charger distance runners Kate Crawford and Clay Billheimer at the state track and field meet in Des Moines today. Crawford ran the 1500 meters in 4:56.02 to place seventh in the event, while Billheimer cracked the coveted two minute barrier in the 800 meter run at 1:59.19, finishing eleventh in the event.
Noah Nelson also ran at Drake today, as he finished the 1600 meter run in 4:48.85 placing him in twenty second place out of the 24 runners competing. Crawford ran the 800 in the morning, finishing in fifteenth place in a time of 2:27.59.
Crawford's seventh place in the 1500 gave the Charger girls a total of eleven team points at the meet wile Nelson's eight place in the 3200 meeter run on Friday was the only scoring for the boys.
And so a successful season winds down for the Charger track and field teams. Go Chargers!
