Crawford Finishes Seventh in 1500; Billheimer Runs 800 Under Two Minutes


Season bests were established by Charger distance runners Kate Crawford and Clay Billheimer at the state track and field meet in Des Moines today. Crawford ran the 1500 meters in 4:56.02 to place seventh in the event, while Billheimer cracked the coveted two minute barrier in the 800 meter run at 1:59.19, finishing eleventh in the event.

Noah Nelson also ran at Drake today, as he finished the 1600 meter run in 4:48.85 placing him in twenty second place out of the 24 runners competing. Crawford ran the 800 in the morning, finishing in fifteenth place in a time of 2:27.59.

Crawford's seventh place in the 1500 gave the Charger girls a total of eleven team points at the meet wile Nelson's eight place in the 3200 meeter run on Friday was the only scoring for the boys.

And so a successful season winds down for the Charger track and field teams. Go Chargers!
