Girls' Union Announces Volleyball Regional Pairings; Chargers Open at Home on October 28
The Iowa Girls' high School Athletic Union announced volleyball regional pairings for all five classes earlier this week. Each of eight class 2A regions consists of ten teams for a total of eighty schools in the class. One team from each region will advance to the state tournament.
ACGC drew a bye in the first round and will host Treynor in a quarterfinal match on Monday, October 28 at 7 PM. Treynor competes in the Western Iowa conference and as of today has compiled a 15-13 record on the season. The Chargers' record as of now is 18-3 going into tonight's match at Panorama. Should ACGC win its match with Treynor, it will likely face Underwood in a regional semifinal match.
Other teams besides the Chargers and Cardinals in the lower bracket include Tri-Center, AHSTW, and Underwood. In the upper bracket are four conference teams--Ogden, Madrid, Van Meter, Woodward-Granger--and eastern Iowa perennial power Grundy Center.
Go Chargers!
