Charger VB Finishes Regular Season at 27-7; Regional Tourney Starts Monday

A late "add-on" tournament at Woodward Granger on Saturday saw the ACGC volleyball team go 3-2 on the day to complete the regular season with a 27-7 record. The twenty seven wins represents a school record for the Chargers, topping the previous record of twenty one wins set in both 2017 and 2018.

Although the Chargers went 3-2 on the day, it was a less than stellar performance by the team. ACGC opened the day with a 21-6, 21-6 win over Fort Dodge, before falling to Grand View Christian in three sets, 21-18, 18-21 10-15, and Roland-Story,14-21, 21-23, to finish pool play.

Competing in the consolation bracket, the girls came up with wins over Panorama, 21-11 and 23-21, and Colfax-Miingo, 21-19, 15-21, 15-13. No statistics were available when this piece was posted.

And now it comes to the "do or die" part of the season, as the Chargers enter regional tournament play next Monday, October 28. ACGC drew a first round bye, as did its quarterfinal opponent, Treynor. The Cardinals enter tournament play with a 17-19 record and have lost their last six matches. Treynor competes in the Western Iowa Conference and finished conference play with an 8-3 record. ACGC will host Treynor in the match which is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. Go Chargers!
