ACGC Baseball Wins Big Over WCV, 18-5

After dropping games to Carroll and Panorama earlier in the week, the ACGC baseball team bounced back to claim an 18-5 five inning win over West Central Valley last night in a WCAC game played in Stuart.

The Chargers scored in every inning including a three run first inning to start things off. Four Chargers hit safely in the inning including Brock Littler, Newell Rogers, Cayden Jensen, and Eli Kading. The first three scored to start off the game.

The team batted around in inning number two, scoring six runs on five hits. Rogers and Jensen picked up their second hits of the game in the inning, with Jensen hitting a two RBI single.

The barrage continued throughout the entire game, as the visitors batted around again in the third inning, and scored at least two runs in every inning.

When all was said and done, the Chargers had a total of seventeen hits for the night. Four players had three hits each, including Jensen, Charlie Crawford, Miles Kading, and Clayton Wardyn. Rogers came up with a pair singles.

Extra base hits included triples by Crawford and Kading, and doubles from Kading, Jensen, and Lucas Marsh. Kading also led the team in runs batted in with four. Needless to say, the bats were booming for the Chargers.

Lance Bunde picked up the win on the mound, as the freshman pitched three innings, surrendered four hits and gave up just a single run. Alex Spack finished the game, pitching the last two innings and surrendered six runs on three Wildcat hits and a half dozen walks.

"We started out hot last tonight," Charger mentor Taylor Morris commented following the win. "Our mood and mentality as a team is entirely different when we take the lead to start the game. We got a great start out of Lance Bunde, and putting up a crooked number in the first inning takes pressure off our pitchers."

The Charger overall record improved to three wins and seven losses for the season, with the WCAC record improving to three wins and five losses.
