ACGC Sends Seven Events To State Track Meet; Suhr Is Champion

The ACGC track and field teams qualified seven events for the state meet to be held next week in Des Moines. According to the IGHSAU and IAHSAA websites, the Chargers qualified two boys and two girls in individual events, and the boys' 4X800 relay in the qualifier meet at Treynor Thursday.
Trevin Suhr was crowned district champion when he captured the 1600 meter run in 4:46.73, while Clayton Wardyn qualified when he placed second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of :15.82. Suhr also qualified in the 800 meter run when he was clocked in 2:05.65. The boys' 4X800 relay came in second with a time of 8:23.98 which also gives them an opportunity to run at Drake University, site of the state meet. Suhr, Kaden Thompson, Zach Moon, and Charlie Crawford each ran an 800 meter leg in the relay.
Charger girls who qualified are Rylee Sloss who placed second in the 3000 meter run which she ran in 11:38.13, and Chloe Largent who placed second in the high jump at 5'3".
The Charger girls finished sixth among the twelve teams competing with 57 points. Underwood won the meet with 120 points. The boys placed fourth with 81.5 points, good for fourth place. Treynor was the meet winner with 167 points.
