Panorama Edges ACGC Boys, 65-57

In a game that wasn't decided until the final minute of play, the Panorama Panthers held on to defeat ACGC, 65-57, in WCAC play on Friday. The game was close throughout, with quarter scores of 14-13 in favor of the Chargers; 30-30 at halftime; and 48-43 Panthers after three quarters.
The first half of the fourth quarter belonged to the visitors when the Panthers scored on five consecutive possessions to apparently break the game open at 58-43. Meanwhile, the Chargers went scoreless in its first seven possessions of the final frame and Panorama would not score another field goal.
Chargers' guard Ben Marsh broke the scoring drought when he hit a three pointer with 4:27 remaining in the game to get the Chargers within twelve points at 58-46. A minute and a half later Miles Kading's deuce reduced the deficit to ten.
Two three point baskets by Brock Litter and one by Jedd Weinkoetz got the Chargers within three points at 60-57 with just under a minute to play. Panorama relied on free throws to ice the game and the Chargers did not score again.
Three Panthers scored in double figures, with Braydon Draper leading the way with 19 points. Jared Wasson tallied 15 and Braden Dawson had 14. Wasson and Draper both had double doubles for the game, as they came up with 16 and 12 rebounds respectively.
Kading led ACGC with 18 points, while Marsh and Littler each came up with 12. Marsh and Kading each had six rebounds. Littler dished out 5 assists for the Chargers.
The Panthers connected on 50% of its field goal attempts, hitting 22 of 44, while the Chargers shot 35.5% on 22 makes out of 62 tries. One could argue that Panorama won the game at the free throw line, as the Panthers were 19-31 from the charity stripe for 61%. The Chargers shot just 6 free throws, connecting on 2.
The Panthers' win gives the team an 11-4 record for the season which includes an 8-2 mark in WCAC play. The Chargers are also 11-4 for the season and are 8-3 in conference play.
